Civil Engineer

Job Overview

As a Civil Engineer, your role is to design, plan and oversee construction projects such as buildings, roads, bridges, airports, water systems, and other infrastructure. You will use your engineering knowledge and expertise to ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently and within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations. You will work closely with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure that the construction projects are completed according to specifications and regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design and plan construction projects, including the preparation of blueprints, schematics, and construction documents. Analyse survey reports maps, and other data to plan projects, such as the construction of buildings, highways, and bridges. Evaluate the feasibility of proposed projects, including assessing site conditions, environmental impact, and the potential for hazard. Manage construction projects, including coordinating with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Perform site inspections to ensure that construction projects are being completed according to design specifications and regulations. Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety regulations. Collaborate with other professionals, including architects, contractors, and government officials, to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and effectively. Develop and present reports, proposals, and other documentation related to construction projects.

Education & Training

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field is required. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices, including design, construction, and project management Familiarity with relevant software and computeraided design (CAD) program Strong analytical and problemsolving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
