Job Overview

An Accountant works closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information and records for assigned entities. This includes performing general accounting duties such as maintaining ledgers, preparing financial statements, and reconciling accounts. An Accountant also analyzes financial data, identifies trends, and makes recommendations for improvement. Proficiency in accounting software is important as are familiarity with GAAP principles.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain financial records and reports
  • Analyze financial information and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents
  • Prepare and file tax returns
  • Assist with budget preparation and forecasting
  • Provide financial advice and support to management
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance
  • Participate in audits and other financial reviews
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information.

Education & Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting
  • Experience with accounting software and systems
  • Understanding of tax laws and regulations
  • Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
